If someone was to compare me to a billionaire, business magnate, film director I would say, 'why thank you very much, I’ll take that!' However, that same referral was in fact related to Howard Hughes... the reason for this comparison was his obsessive and compulsive urge to wash his hands. In this respect I was no longer enthusiastic for such a reference.
My wonderful mother would say 'it's only a bit of dirt!' but for me to have a little something on my hands was unbearable! I have always spent more time than is necessary with my hands in the sink, without marigolds, and well I never thought anymore about it. I have since come to believe I have mild OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).
Today I am writing this during lockdown number three of a global pandemic they call Covid-19. A pandemic of such magnitude that we are all asked to wash our hands to the tune of Happy Birthday...TWICE. Can you imagine my hands now... my knuckles are so dry and resemble what I can only describe as bunions!! Everyone on this planet right now is fighting an enemy we cannot see but with one card we can all pull to trump all others, to constantly keep ourselves in check of our hygiene habits and to WASH OUR HANDS in order to kill this horrible virus.
This is where Bac to Beauty comes in. I wanted to do something, anything to help during these difficult times but what? Time was not on my hands with a little munchkin gnawing at my legs (munchkin being my little boy Henry). I sent a few packages of unwanted items from around the house to locals in need and donated as much money as I could spare to the homeless. I sent notes to all 35 houses in my neighbourhood offering my number for support and asking for their numbers in return so I could set up a neighbourhood WhatsApp group and what a group this has become! We share jokes, birthdays, food, tools and have become the best neighbourhood watch you could ever imagine. This still wasn't enough for me.
In 2018 I actually thought about selling hand gels however there was something pulling me back. I wasn't confident enough it would sell, maybe because there was a lot of competition out there. Now even more so. I made the decision hand gel wasn't the product for Bac to Beauty.
In 2020 more and more hand sanitizers were on the shelves in every shop, at times you would have found it hard to find them at all as they were off the shelves as soon as on! I then tried a spray which although wasn't alcohol based, I liked the fact I was cleaning my hands in a water substance rather than gel. I preferred the spray and used it more and more, even though it wasn't alcohol based. It felt cleaner. This is when I came up with the idea to make my own amazing antibacterial hand spray. Not only does this spray cleanse with its alcohol content over 70% but it also moisturises with nourishing ingredients. It's discreet and compact enough for handbags, clutch bags and manly enough for the gym. It looks good, feels good and smells fabulously fresh and clean.
Antibacterial hand spray is the way forward and the bonus is I haven't seen that many on the market, not with over 70% alcohol. So here I am, cleaning up, doing more in this new day and age.
